1. Self-sufficiency in iodine production and cessation of dependence on imports

Before the Caspian Mine began operating, Iran was completely dependent on iodine imports. However, by launching the first iodine processing plant in the Incheh mine in 2008 and expanding production capacity with the opening of the Incheh 2 mine in 2018, the company was able to fully meet the domestic needs of the pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical industries. Today, Iran is not only an importer of iodine, but is also known as one of the 8 countries producing this strategic substance in the world.

2. Becoming the fifth largest producer of iodine in the world

By exploiting the brine reserves of the southeastern Caspian Sea and developing extraction technologies, the Caspian Ore Company has been able to raise the Islamic Republic of Iran to the fifth largest producer of iodine in the world. This achievement has placed Iran alongside major industrial powers such as Japan, Chile, and the United States.

3. Obtaining prestigious international certificates

By establishing quality, environmental, and safety management systems in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007, and GMP standards, the company demonstrates its commitment to producing quality products, respecting environmental principles, and maintaining human health. 4. Exports to more than 10 countries

The iodine produced by the Khazar deposit, which is produced with USP standards (suitable for advanced pharmaceutical industries), is exported to countries such as Germany, India, Turkey and Malaysia. This commercial success, in addition to bringing foreign exchange into the country, has increased the reputation of Iran’s mining industry globally.

5. Development of indigenous technologies in iodine extraction

The company has localized the technology of purifying and processing mineral brines through extensive research and cooperation with domestic scientific centers. Achieving technical knowledge of extracting iodine from low-concentration brines is one of the unique achievements of this complex, which has reduced production costs and strengthened Iran’s competitiveness in the global market.
